Independent Literacy Evaluation (I.L.E.) is designed to assist families seeking an objective assessment of their child's literacy skills. Evaluations assess key aspects of reading, including decoding, comprehension, and fluency, as well as writing skills, such as spelling and organization. All assessments align with New York State Performance Standards and utilize the same tools employed by the NYC DOE public school system. This alignment ensures that parents and educators can effectively collaborate using a shared framework during conferences, discussions about promotion in doubt, IEP meetings, and planning for interventions. We provide sustainable literacy practices and routines to support families along their educational journey. The program welcomes students of all levels.
At I.L.E., we believe that literacy begins at home.
